About Me
- Name: Ken Brunk
- Location: Harrisonburg, Virginia, United States
As a young CO during the Vietnam War, I volunteered for service in rural Tanzania (1970 to 1973) and was sent to help assist an Ujamaa Village. I and a co-worker basically camped for several years and were taught Swahili, village life and subsistance living / survival. I have been in love with the African bush and the people ever since. We didn't teach much except that we had an excess of rather useless crap that added not much to satisfaction; things that are complex tend to fall apart when needed and cannot be depended on. Simpler the better. I learned how little it takes to exist and be happy! It gets in your blood. These are pictures and experiences of 35 years ago.
